On February 14, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, received representatives of the World Bank, led by Roland Price, the Regional Director for the South Caucasus.
The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister Gevorg Mantashyan, Deputy Minister Gevorg Meliksetyan, the Director of the World Bank Armenia Office Carolyn Geginat, and other representatives.
During the meeting, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan presented the directions and priorities of strategic importance for the Government of the Republic of Armenia and particularly emphasized the Government's efforts to implement the "Crossroads of Peace" project, which aims to promote regional connectivity.
Minister Hayrapetyan also presented the legislative reforms and programs implemented and planned by the Ministry and touched upon various programs implemented jointly with the World Bank, in particular the "Engineering City" initiative, which, according to the Minister, is one of the best examples of cooperation, and expressed hope that the scope of cooperation will expand even further shortly. It will be developed.
Roland Price, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and presented WorBank's key programs, particularly the projects implemented in the region and the planned progress, touching upon Armenia's opportunities to be involved in these programs.
The discussion also focused on several agenda issues, including cybersecurity, digital identification, cloud policy, and broadband Internet development.
The meeting resulted in agreements on further steps and joint programs aimed at deepening cooperation between Armenia's high-tech sector and the World Bank.
