The streets of Yerevan have been filled with the unique creations of world-famous street artist Alec Monopoly.
Alec Monopoly, better known as Alec Andon, is an Armenian street artist and DJ originally from New York. He is known for covering his face with his hands or wearing a medical mask to hide his identity. He is best known for his role as "Mr. Monopoly" character, whom he depicts in a tuxedo and hat.
On January 18-20, Alec Monopoly was hosted in Armenia at the invitation of Fastex co-founder Vigen Badalyan. He presented a gift to the city of Yerevan by painting his beloved character on the side of a white high-rise building at 31 Tumanyan Street and on the wall next to the door of the "Tapastan" restaurant at 6 Saryan Street.
An urbanist character vividly characterizes the artist's works. He has worked in various environments: Miami, Los Angeles, Mexico, Europe, and Asia, using multiple materials, including stencils, paints, epoxies, varnishes, and newspapers, and depicting numerous pop culture characters. Famous people like Philip Plein, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Snoop Dogg, Seth Rogen, Adrien Brody, Iggy Azalea, and others have purchased Alec Monopoly's works. Monopoly has also collaborated with famous brands: TAG Heuer, Dom Pérignon, Philipp Plein, and Hermès.
The king of street art has also painted 4 AKNEYE sculptures, which are now located in the United Arab Emirates. As part of Harmony Meetup VI, which took place in December 2024 in Ras Al Khaimah, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a live demonstration of the artist's phenomenal art on sculptures, which marked the remarkable collaboration between Alec and AKNEYE.
