The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and chairman of the Governmental Organizing Committee for the Pan-Armenian Games, Arayik Harutyunyan, attended the closing ceremony of the Second Pan-Armenian Winter Games in Jermuk today. The event was also attended by the President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan; the Governor of Vayots Dzor Region, Kolya Mikaelyan; the Mayor of Jermuk Municipality, Vahagn Arsenyan; members of the Executive Committee of the "World Committee of the Pan-Armenian Games" NGO; and members of the Organizing Committee.
Arayik Harutyunyan welcomed those present and noted, "Honestly, I did not expect the Second Winter Games to turn into such a bright holiday because, during the opening speech, I said how difficult it was for us to make that decision. But I think we succeeded when we made that decision two years ago. We succeeded because we saw competition in all the games, unity in all the games, and brotherhood in all the games. Each such event is an opportunity for us to develop our capabilities because you know that Armenia will host major sports events, especially in recent years and in the coming years," said Arayik Harutyunyan. and added that in 2027, Armenia would host the Pan-Armenian Games, the Francophonie Games, and several other significant events.
The Prime Minister's Chief of Staff also thanked the compatriots of Vayots Dzor, especially the city of Jermuk, for this hospitality. "Jermuk received a new title, and Jermuk will henceforth be remembered as the capital of the Second Pan-Armenian Winter Games, just like the Olympic Games. "The cities remember," Arayik Harutyun summed up his speech.
