This year’s first G2-G3 class stronger geomagnetic storm: astronomers warn of a possible powerful X-class solar flare. Levon Azizyan, director of the Center for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“A G2-G3 class geomagnetic storm is expected on February 7-8, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports. The expected geomagnetic storm is due to a series of flares on February 1, 2, and 3, accompanied by a coronal mass ejection from the Sun. The flow of particles will reach Earth on February 7 and 8 and create a series of geomagnetic storms,” he wrote.
