An evening dedicated to Parajanov was organized at the initiative of the Armenian Embassy in the US

The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the United States reports:

On January 22, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the United States, in cooperation with the Things to Do DC organization, initiated another cultural evening dedicated to Sergey Parajanov, whose name was included in the UNESCO Calendar of Anniversaries of Famous People and Important Events for 2024-2025.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Lilit Makunts touched upon the rich Armenian cultural heritage and world-famous Armenian artists, particularly Sergey Parajanov's activities. Candidate of Philological Sciences, Alvard Semirjyan, presented Parajanov's art and works by screening excerpts from the film "The Color of Pomegranate."

The evening ended with pianist Naira Babayan performing famous works by Komitas, Arno Babajanyan, and Aram Khachaturian.
