The possibility of attracting IT companies to Armenia was discussed with the German Ambassador

RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan received Claudia Busch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany, to the Republic of Armenia on January 29 to discuss and develop opportunities for bilateral technological cooperation.

Minister Hayrapetyan presented in detail the ministry's strategic priorities, from high technologies to digitalization, from space technologies to cybersecurity, and touched upon the new seven-year program aimed at developing the technological sector and other initiatives.

Referring to the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation with Germany in the technological sector, the parties outlined a number of possible directions, in particular emphasizing the importance of attracting large German and EU transnational IT companies to Armenia, the existing opportunities for cooperation in the fields of biotechnology, and the design and production of semiconductor components and microelectronics.

Claudia Bush, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, presented the active joint work being carried out with Armenia in the field of digitalization, touched upon the opportunities for cooperation put forward by the Minister, as well as expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in capacity development, startups, techno-industry, and other areas contributing to the development of the sector. Agreements were reached on expanding cooperation and further steps and tasks.
