On January 27, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan met with Foreign Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic Asad Al-Shaibani in Damascus.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, the deputy foreign minister conveyed the Armenian government's commitment to developing bilateral relations with the Syrian side. The interlocutors exchanged views on possible areas of cooperation.
Vahan Kostanyan confirmed the Armenian side's readiness to support the humanitarian and reform implementation sectors, as well as various other programs considered a priority in Syria.
Both sides emphasized the strong historical ties between the peoples of Armenia and Syria. In this context, support was expressed for efforts to create an atmosphere of solidarity and inclusiveness in Syria.
The interlocutors exchanged views on regional developments, emphasizing the importance of normalizing relations with neighbors.
The Syrian side highly appreciated the Armenian delegation's visit to Damascus. An agreement was reached to continue contacts.
