Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan received the Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations in Armenia, Françoise Jacob. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan and Director of the Rescue Service, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kamo Tsutsulyan, were also present at the meeting.
Arpine Sargsyan emphasized the extensive cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with UN offices, which includes functions within the scope of the ministry's mandate. According to the minister, cooperation has a tendency to expand, taking into account the recently launched new program aimed at developing the Ministry of Internal Affairs's human capital.
Françoise Jacob thanked for the reception and expressed willingness to continue the cooperation, especially the active collaboration with the Rescue Service.
The perspectives of expanding the directions of cooperation were discussed, including issues of protection of human rights, especially ensuring children's rights, and providing technical assistance to the Rescue Service.
Reference was also made to the structural changes of the Rescue Service, the fight against crime, and the promotion of women's involvement in the services under the ministry. The parties emphasized their willingness to continue cooperation to implement joint projects effectively.
