The NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs discussed Armenia's and the USA's agreement to cooperate in the customs sector.
This establishes the foundations of cooperation between the customs services of Armenia and the USA, which will provide proper and full regulation of bilateral relations, allow for closer cooperation, and contribute to the strengthening and expansion of opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia Raphael Gevorgyan presented the draft law on ratifying the agreement "between the government of the Republic of Armenia and the government of the United States of America on mutual assistance of their customs authorities" to the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly.
The agreement signed on June 11 of the previous year provides that the customs authorities will have a specific regime for exchanging information. To provide cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in the fields related to customs affairs, it is planned to simplify and clarify the information exchange procedures.
