Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Eduard Hakobyan hosted Kristina Kvien, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, summarizing the previous year's work, the parties noted that despite the existing challenges, Armenian-American relations have achieved significant success and progress in customs and tax administration.
The parties discussed several important issues of bilateral cooperation. In particular, they discussed the support provided to the SRC within the framework of the Export Control and Border Security Program, its continuation, collaboration with the International Bureau of counter-narcotics and law enforcement agencies, and the fight against illegal activities and customs. They also discussed joint efforts to increase the efficiency of the activity. Creating a safer and more efficient environment in the context of mutual trade was highlighted.
The parties emphasized the importance of the agreement on coordination of mutual administrative support in the customs sector signed last year within the framework of the Armenian-American strategic dialogue, noting that the bilateral relations in the customs sector are at a new stage of development.
At the end of the meeting, the chairman of the SRC emphasized strengthening the committee's vision as a professional structure providing professional services, emphasizing the continuity of Armenian-American cooperation and mutual assistance in customs and tax administration.
