On December 28 of this year, at 15:44 local time (at 11:44 GMT), the seismological network of the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia registered Georgia with the geographical coordinates of 41.40⁰ north latitude and 44.18⁰ east longitude: 8 km northwest of the city of Dmanisi, at a depth of 10 km 4.2 magnitude earthquake.
The strength of the underground shock in the epicentral zone was 5–6 points.
The earthquake was felt in Gyumri city of the Shirak region and Bavra, Ghazanchi, Ashotsk, and Musayelyan villages, as well as Tashir and Stepanavan cities and Metsavan, Sarchapet, and Mikhayelovka villages of the Lori region, with a magnitude of 3-4.
