Armenian-Greek defense consultations in Athens

On December 19, Armenia-Greece bilateral and Armenia-Greece-Cyprus trilateral defense consultations were held in Athens, in which the delegation led by the head of the Department of Defense Policy and International Cooperation, Levon Ayvazyan from the RA Ministry of Defense, participated.

During the consultations, the works carried out in the direction of defense cooperation in 2024 and the tasks to be done in 2025 were discussed.

The parties noted that the cooperation had made significant progress in volume and content and included important directions requiring more long-term, systematic work.

Issues of introducing new approaches and standards in defense were also discussed. Levon Ayvazyan presented to his colleagues the process of transformation of the RA army and emphasized the contribution of Greek and Cypriot partners, especially in the preparation of various types of military forces of the RA armed forces, military education, exercises, exchange of experience, consulting support, and other directions.

Reference was also made to the latest regional and international military-political developments.

The parties emphasized the regular holding of defense consultations.

At the end of the consultations, the Armenia-Greece bilateral and Armenia-Greece-Cyprus trilateral defense cooperation plans for 2025 were signed. These plans include dozens of measures in many spheres of the armed forces' lives.
