On December 11, Vardan Vardanyan, Deputy Chief of the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, met with the delegation led by Imeda Tsitsiashvili, the regional attaché of the US Drug Control Administration. Emphasizing the importance of cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the US Drug Enforcement Administration, Vardan Vardanyan noted that the fight against and prevention of illegal drug trafficking is one of the priority directions of the Ministry. Imeda Tsitsiashvili expressed her satisfaction with the strengthening and expanding cooperation, which is also documented in the memorandum of cooperation. She expressed readiness for more extended and continuous collaboration.
Issues related to identifying cases of illegal drug trafficking, improving professional knowledge and skills, and strengthening the material and technical base were discussed. Expanded cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the US Drug Enforcement Administration was reaffirmed, and new directions and opportunities for expansion were outlined.
