On December 10, the Armenia-France strategic defense consultations were held at the RA Ministry of Defense under the leadership of Levon Ayvazyan, Head of the Department of Defense Policy and International Cooperation of the RA Ministry of Defense, and Alexander Escorsia, Head of the Europe, North America, and Multilateral Cooperation Department of the General Department of International Cooperation and Strategy of the French Ministry of Armed Forces.
During the consultations, the works carried out in the framework of cooperation in 2024 were summarized, and the plans for the next year were outlined. In the training, military-technical, and other directions of various troops.
Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, the RA Armed Forces General Staff chief, received the delegation headed by Alexandre Escorcia. The priorities of the RA Armed Forces transformation process and the course of cooperation with France were discussed. The parties also exchanged opinions on regional and international security issues during the consultations. As a result of the consultations, Armenia and France signed the 2025 defense cooperation program, which includes several dozen measures in almost all spheres of the armed forces.
