The RA Embassy in France reported that a conference dedicated to the prospects of deepening economic cooperation between Armenia and the region was held within the framework of the "Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes-Armenia-Syunik Friendship Day" events in Lyon.
At the suggestion of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region, this first ORA-Armenia economic meeting was dedicated to one of the most important directions of the "Armenian-French economic cooperation" road map: the energy sector, which is of strategic importance for Armenia, particularly renewable energy. Armenian Ambassador to France Arman Khachatryan was also present at the conference.
The conference started with the speech of the vice president of the ORA region, Philippe Meunier, who, welcoming the Armenian delegation participating in the events led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, reaffirmed the region's commitment to deepen economic cooperation with Armenia.
Arman Khojoyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, also made an opening speech, which emphasized the unrealized potential of economic cooperation between Armenia and France and the need to make efforts in that direction. During the conference, the representatives of two French companies, Veolia company Francois Laforet and Nepsen company representative Manon d'Hautehuil, presented their experience conducting economic activities in Armenia.
Gohar Galyan, Director of the Investment Support Center Fund, and Frank Colcombe, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ORA Region Enterprises, presented the investment opportunities of Armenia and ORA Region, respectively.
The conference ended with a round table on the topic "Economic opportunities in the field of energy in Armenia and the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region," which was addressed by the Deputy Minister of Territorial Management and Infrastructures of Armenia Vache Terteryan, General Director of the Investment Support Center Foundation Levon Ohanesyan, Director of "AMBER CAPITAL" company. Karen Arabyan, Director of "R2E2" Foundation Karen Asatryan, and from the French side, ORA Thierry Kovacs, Regional Vice President for Environmental Protection and Ecology, Ingrid Millsent, International Development Officer of the Region's Energy Development Competitiveness Organization, Marek Vaud, International Development Officer of the Bpi France-AURA State Fund, and Jean-Philippe Balla, Nuclear Valley Economic Development Director.
