RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan received Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, on November 4. Deputy Minister Narek Hovakimyan was also present at the meeting.
Several issues related to RA-EU trade and economic cooperation, sectoral support provided by the EU and jointly implemented programs and initiatives, economic diversification, export market expansion, quality infrastructure alignment with international standards, and deepening cooperation in food safety were discussed.
The possibility of attracting investments from the EU to Armenia to develop logistics infrastructures in the country's economy was mentioned.
The possibility of expanding mechanisms to support SMEs by providing new financial resources and long-term credit programs was also discussed.
The parties also exchanged ideas on cooperation in the textile industry. In agriculture, both sides have emphasized the development of agribusiness, the digitalization of the rural sector, and the introduction of innovative technologies.
