The reforms of the migration sphere of Armenia were presented

The annual Vienna migration conference was held in the Republic of Austria from October 21 to 24. Armen Ghazaryan, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs's migration and citizenship service, also participated.

About 200 politicians, high-ranking officials, experts, specialists in the field, international organizations, political societies, academia, and other representatives from different countries participated in the conference to discuss the issues of migration policy development.
The host party was the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD/ICMPD).

The Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Armen Ghazaryan, met with the Director of the EU Asylum Agency, Nina Gregory. They discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, particularly organizing training to develop the capacities of the MIA migration and citizenship service employees, with the possibility of using the relevant toolkit of the EU Asylum Agency.

Prospects of cooperation were discussed during the meeting with ICRC General Director Michael Spindelegger.

Armen Ghazaryan also met with Sedef Dieringi, the head of the ICRC migration dialogue and cooperation directorate. During this meeting, the reforms in Armenia's migration sector were presented, and further cooperation plans were discussed, especially regarding the implementation of new initiatives within the framework of visa liberalization.

During the meeting with the representative of the EU Agency for the operational management of IT systems in the field of Freedom, security, and justice (eu-LISA), an agreement was reached on further cooperation with the EU-LISA Agency, in particular, the digitization of migration processes, the launch of databases and a large-scale IT system, the exchange of technological experience and other issues.
