The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, met with Laure Kasten, the newly appointed Director of the Central and Eastern Europe Regional Office of the Francophonie University Agency.
Artur Martirosyan, deputy minister of MESCS, was also present at the meeting.
Minister Zhanna Andreasyan congratulated Laure Kasten on his appointment as the Director of the Francophonie University Agency's Central and Eastern Europe Regional Office.
Emphasizing the development of cooperation in the framework of Francophonie, the minister noted that bilateral programs and new initiatives had been activated in recent years, which the working group, which was created to organize cooperation more effectively in the fields of education and culture, contributed.
"We attach great importance to the development of Francophonie in Armenia," said the CSMS minister, presenting the working group's activities.
Zhanna Andreasyan also referred to the programs aimed at in-depth French teaching in public educational institutions, which are implemented with the French Embassy in Armenia.
The minister also emphasized the pilot initiative "Promotion of French in Armenia," aiming to create a group of French trainers as a foreign language. It was noted that six universities in Armenia are members of the University Agency of Francophonie (AUF).
Laure Kasten thanked me for the reception and emphasized that he was ready to discuss the proposals and work together toward them.
During the meeting, reference was made to holding the 10th Francophonie Games in 2027 in Armenia. It was also proposed to discuss the possibility of implementing programs to develop French in the regions' youth centers.
In this context, the mobility of students and young people and the implementation of various projects in this direction, which imply the implementation of exchange programs, joint research, and other works, were emphasized.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
