RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan received representatives of the US National Science Foundation (NSF) Sohi Rastegar and Alexander Simonyan.
The deputy minister welcomed the representatives of the fund and emphasized the need for bilateral cooperation.
Artur Martirosyan referred to the state policy implemented in higher education and science, referring to the development of the new law "On Higher Education and Science." According to him, the project specified the requirements for the quality of higher education and the management and enlargement process of universities, the purpose of which is the organization of research education.
Artur Martirosyan also informed that the creation of an academic city is planned in Armenia under the "State Program for the Development of RA Education until 2030", the concept of the master plan, which has already been approved.
The deputy minister of CSMS also referred to international cooperation, highlighting the practical cooperation between Armenia and the EU in the field of higher education, in particular, the "Erasmus+" and "Horizon Europe" programs. Artur Martirosyan greatly emphasized cooperation with the USA in the field of science and reaffirmed his willingness to activate the collaboration with the US National Science Foundation.
The representative of the US National Science Foundation (NSF), Sohi Rastegar, thanked the Armenian government for the reception and highly appreciated its efforts to develop science in the country. He presented the NSF's activities, stressing that the NSF is interested in cooperating with Armenia.
