On September 20, within the framework of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to Vienna International Organizations, Ambassador Armen Papikyan, and the Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Hua Liu signed the framework document of cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the International Atomic Energy Agency for the years 2024-2029.
The document was developed as a result of close cooperation with the relevant agencies of the Republic of Armenia and defines the main priorities of technical collaboration with the IAEA and the scope of implementation of further programs, in particular, the use of atomic energy, nuclear and radiation safety and security regulation, nuclear and radiation medicine, radiation protection of the environment, water in the fields of resource management.
During the meeting held after the signing, the parties expressed satisfaction with the upward cooperation between Armenia and the IAEA, highlighting the office's key role and importance within its mandate.
