Armen Ghazaryan touched upon the topic of the liberalization of RA-EU visas

The Migration and Citizenship Service informs that Armen Ghazaryan, the head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, made several statements regarding the liberalization of RA-EU visas.

  • A system with new solutions will be introduced shortly.

  • The state must have a stable, safe, and secure system of documents carrying biometric data,

  • Biometric devices used in previous documents are no longer produced worldwide.

  • Even if the asylum applications of RA citizens who appeared legally in the European Union countries have no natural grounds,

  • Ninety-six percent or more of asylum applications submitted by RA citizens are rejected.

  • The highest number of asylum requests from Armenia in EU member states was recorded in 2016 (more than 8,000 requests), the lowest number in 2020 (about 1,200 requests).

  • When the end of the visa liberalization dialogue is near, visitors will be able to visit European countries without a visa.
