3 bronze medals from the 54th International Physics Olympiad

In the 54th International Physics Olympiad, the 5 students representing the Armenian team won 3 bronze medals and 2 commendations.

The Olympiad was held July 21-29 in Isfahan, Iran, with experimental and theoretical stages. 197 representatives of 46 countries participated in the Olympics.

From the Armenian team, bronze medals were awarded to A․ Arsen Aghayan (12th grade) and Narek Galstyan (11th grade), students of Shahinyan Physics Math Special School, Artyom Gasparyan, 12th grade student of АФХ High School, and commendations: А․ Narek Movsisyan, a 12th-grade student of Shahinyan Physics Math Special School, and Armen Gazazyan, a 12th-grade student of АФХ High School.

The team was led by A. Bilor Kurghinyan and Mekhak Hayrapetyan, teachers of the particular physics school named after Shahinyan. Alfred Petrosyan, a physics teacher at the High School of Athens, participated as an observer.

Let us remind you that in the 53rd International Physics Olympiad, which was held in Japan, the Armenian team won 1 silver and 4 bronze medals.
