On May 6, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan received the delegations of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX).
As the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported, Arpine Sargsyan, welcoming the guests, highly appreciated the practical cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Arab Republic of Egypt. He also highly appreciated the partnership with the European Union, emphasizing especially the deepening of cooperation with Frontex in visa liberalization with the EU.
The deputy minister noted that cooperation with international partners is a good example of bringing about real changes in the field of migration and sharing experiences. Arpine Sargsyan presented the details of the formation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, referring, in particular, to the work carried out to develop the capacities of employees in the Migration and Civil Service.
The delegation members got acquainted with the policy and legislation implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the field of migration and the steps taken by Armenia to effectively implement the RA-EU readmission agreement, which is aimed at effectively providing the return and readmission process.
The tools for managing migration flows and the electronic readmission request system were also mentioned. The members of the Egyptian delegation were thanked for the warm reception and showed great interest in the organization and approaches to the process of readmission of citizens to Armenia.
The delegation members presented the migration trends, referring to the implementation of the migration policy in Egypt.
The meeting highlighted the exchange of experience in the field of return and reintegration with Egyptian partners. The participants expressed readiness to continue cooperation.
