Within the framework of the "Support to the Reforms of the Law Enforcement Bodies and Security Sector of the Republic of Armenia" program implemented by the EU, the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia was on a working visit to the Republic of Lithuania from April 22 to 26, due to the comprehensive reforms underway in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its subordinate structures.
The delegation included Armen Mkrtchyan, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' strategic planning, policy development, and monitoring department; Vaghinak Martirosyan, the head of the Internal Security and anti-corruption department; Narek Sargsyan, the press secretary of the Minister of Internal Affairs, the head of the public communication and information department, Narek Sargsyan, the deputy head of the international cooperation department, Armen Sedrakyan, the head of the legal department. Deputy Armen Martoyan and Maria Alahverdyan, head of the policy development and monitoring department, are responsible for the migration and citizenship of the MTAI department.
During the visit, the members of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs delegation met with the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Lithuania, Agneta Ladek, the Chief Commissioner-General of the Lithuanian Police, Renatas Požela, and the heads of several structural divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania.
The meetings occurred at the Central Agency for State Program Management, police units, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, and Vilnius University.
During the meetings, the administration of law enforcement bodies, implementation, analysis, and strategic planning of the reform process, as well as the prevention of corruption, were mainly addressed.
During the meetings, the Lithuanian partners reaffirmed their readiness to support the ongoing reforms in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
