President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan, on the eve of the International Day of Francophonie celebrated on March 20, received French writer, traveler, journalist Sylvain Tesson, deputy director of "LE FIGARO MAGAZINE" periodical Jean-Christophe Buisson, French-Armenian cellist Astghik Siranosyan and traveler, photographer Antoine Agujyan.
Welcoming the guests, the President of the Republic thanked them for their significant contribution in presenting the reality of the events taking place in Armenia and the region to the world community and emphasized that Armenia highly appreciates this activity.
At the meeting, the guests reflected on recent regional developments and Armenia's approaches to them. In this context, the President of the Republic emphasized that Armenia has a clear position to achieve stable and lasting peace in the South Caucasus, to establish neighborly relations with all neighboring countries.
During the conversation, the current phase of the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and the realities and problems in the peace process, as well as ways to overcome them, were discussed.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed the challenges that threaten the Armenian historical and cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh, the danger of its possible destruction, and exchanged ideas on the possibilities of the return of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
