On March 5, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri in Cairo as part of the RA Prime Minister's official visit to Egypt.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Egypt exchanged ideas on the bilateral agenda and prospects for expanding political dialogue. The interlocutors emphasized the role of regular, high-level reciprocal visits in broadening the scope of Armenian-Egyptian interaction and further developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Issues of regional security were discussed.
Minister Mirzoyan referred to the continuous efforts of RA to establish long-term peace and stability in the South Caucasus, presenting to his Egyptian counterpart the latest discussions in the process of regulating Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. Ararat Mirzoyan stressed that RA's approaches to critical issues are fair and legitimate, based on respecting the well-known principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction. In the context of unblocking regional infrastructure, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the clearly expressed interest of RA and the political will to advance the process based on the principles of reciprocity and equality.
