The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, congratulated the 2023 graduates of the parliamentary practice and fellowship program of the National Democracy Institute.
"I am sure that the knowledge and experience you have gained during these months in the National Assembly are only the beginning of new achievements and successes," said Simonyan.
The Speaker of the Parliament highly appreciated the program participants' involvement in the National Assembly's work and thanked the National Democracy Institute and the US Agency for International Development for implementing the program for the fifth time and allowing Armenian youth to participate in the work of the legislative body.
USAID Armenia Mission Director John Allello congratulated the program graduates, National Democracy Institute Armenia Office Director Cohen Pustjens, National Democracy Institute Armenia Office Senior Head of Counseling Programs Hovhannes Harutyunyan. Within the framework of the project, young professionals have had the opportunity to gain experience in the parliament for about ten months by participating in the work of the legislative body.
The interns supported the committees, MPs, and NA staff by conducting analysis, research, press monitoring, and press releases, helping manage social platforms, and participating in committee and NA plenary sessions. They also participated in organizing community meetings.
As a result of the program, young professionals have improved their knowledge and skills, and many graduates have worked in public administration bodies. The US Agency for International Development (USAID) funds the project. It is implemented due to the cooperation of the National Democracy Institute (NDI) and the National Assembly.
