From February 14 to 15, the delegation of the criminal police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, headed by the deputy head of the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police colonel Vardan Vardanyan, was at the headquarters of Europol located in The Hague, the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The delegation consisted of the head of the Department of Investigation, Illegal Migration, and Combating Terrorism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police, Lt. Col. Rafael Poghosyan, the head of the Cyber Crimes Department, Lt. Col. Hayk Mkrtchyan, and officers of regional departments.
The primary purpose of the visit was to deepen the cooperation between Europol and the Criminal Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs in combating organized crime.
During the meeting, several topics were discussed, in particular, drug trafficking, cybercrime, crimes against property, and possible ways of cooperation between non-EU countries and Europol.
Deputy Head of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police colonel Vardan Vardanyan, highlighted the strengthening of cooperation between the RA law enforcement system and the EU member states, presented the expected reforms of the Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, and the vision of the future in the fight against organized crime, highly appreciating the readiness of European partners and continuous support to the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
During the visit, there was also a meeting with the law enforcement agencies of France. Ways of possible cooperation between the criminal police officers of the two countries in the fight against organized criminal groups were discussed.
