RA human rights defender Anahit Manasyan received the delegation led by Kristina Kvien, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the USA, to RA.

Welcoming the guests, Anahit Manasyan presented the directions for the defender's activities, emphasizing the protection of the rights of women, children, national minorities, persons with disabilities, the right to freedom of assembly, civil and socio-economic rights, protection of the rights of persons in the armed forces, criminal proceedings, hate speech, and intolerance. Environment, the works carried out in the framework of the fight against discrimination and in several other fields.

The defender also presented issues about protecting the rights of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh; he expressly referred to the fact-finding activities he carried out personally and by the staff. The extraordinary report of the Human Rights Defender summarized the documented information.

Within the framework of the meeting, among other things, reference was made to the programs implemented by USAID/Armenia in human rights protection that contribute to the development of democracy and the legal environment.

Ambassador Kristina Kvien, in her turn, thanked for the reception and practical discussion, highlighting the activity of the defender's institution in strengthening the proper human rights protection system.
