Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan received the head of the EU delegation in Armenia, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary Vassilis Maragos.
The minister highly appreciated the role of the EU in implementing democratic reforms and ensuring the rule of law in Armenia, as well as emphasizing the cooperation between the EU delegation and the Ministry of Justice in various formats.
Minister Grigor Minasyan presented the works carried out in the justice and anti-corruption reform fields. In particular, he referred to the digitization of the civil proceedings, effective February 1. The minister thanked the EU ambassador for his active support in this field.
The works of the Armenian Arbitration and Conciliation Center and the plans to be implemented in this direction shortly were presented. Referring to the constitutional reforms, the importance of continuous EU support was emphasized.
Ambassador Vassilis Maragos noted the importance of Armenia-EU cooperation in various formats, including the implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the EU-Armenia Justice Dialogue, and the regular holding of the Human Rights Dialogue (CEPA HRD) sessions.
Both parties emphasized implementing justice sector reforms and ensuring the continuity of support from the EU in this direction.
The minister and the EU ambassador discussed the programs implemented with EU budget support and exchanged ideas on several issues in this direction.
The parties discussed other issues of mutual interest.
An agreement was reached to continue joint work to reform the justice sector.
