The US Embassy in Armenia issued a warning for the safety and movement of its citizens in Armenia.
US Embassy employees and their families are prohibited from any non-essential travel to the following locations. The embassy notes that these border restrictions have been eased compared to the previous ones.
Gegharkunik, east of Vardenis,
Syunik, east of Goris,
Syunik, south of Kapan,
Driving through Yeraskh village in the Ararat region is allowed, but stopping is not.
US citizens should continue to exercise caution near all international borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Be aware that some road sections may cross international borders without prior notice. Roads may be monitored by checkpoints or closed to travelers without prior notice.
