"It is a somber picture in the public multiplex today," announced Tigran Hakobyan, the President of the RAU.
According to him, all television companies work at a loss.
"Their viewership has fallen, and advertisers are choosing other platforms. According to our calculations, viewership of TV stations drops by 3-5% every year," he said.
He also referred to giving public TV the right to broadcast advertisements. "They gave advertising rights to the public TV station, which the commission was against. We believe that the TV company should be funded by the state budget. For example, in 2023, the Public TV Company earned about 700 million drams. That means that most of that money went from other TV stations," he said.
