RA Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan gave a speech at the festive event dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Army of the Republic of Armenia.

"The army is one of the institutions guaranteeing the sovereignty of the state and the security of the people at all times, so it continues to be the most important direction of state building.

There is a well-known saying: The army is the mirror of society; it should not sound like self-justification, but it should suggest the idea of working harmoniously with various public institutions so that we can close the source of the evil phenomena entering the army, cut their vital roots, and exclude the loss of life in the military in peaceful conditions," Papikyan said.

According to the Minister of Defense, experience has shown that they are unbreakable, no matter how high the soldier's spirit and will to serve the motherland are. Modern weapons make it possible to have a solid and capable army.

"The efforts to complete the armament of the RA armed forces at a level suitable for the leading armies of the 21st century have yielded tangible results over the past year. We expanded the military-technical cooperation by finding new partners and taking tangible steps to diversify armaments, which will help form a more stable and reliable security environment around Armenia.

I cannot fail to mention the programs aimed at developing the military industry and the efforts to provide the needs of the army with domestic products. Simply put, we should not import what we can produce ourselves in our country with a lower cost and good quality," Papikyan noted.
