Today is the 100th anniversary of the famous Armenian poet, literary critic, and translator Paruyr Sevak.
On the occasion, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan visited Sevak's birthplace, Zangakatun, to lay flowers in memory of the writer. The minister was accompanied by Alfred Kocharyan, the deputy minister of MESCS, and Sedrak Tevonyan, governor of the Ararat region.
During the visit, the director of the Paruyr Sevak House Museum, Sevak Ghazaryan, presented the history of the museum's foundation and individual exhibits to the minister. According to Sevak Ghazaryan, on the exhibition hall wall is a mural dedicated to Paruyr Sevak by artist Sargis Muradyan, in which essential periods of the writer's life and work are presented. Exhibits related to the different stages of the poet's life and creativity are displayed in the lobby hall of the museum: personal items, documents, copies of manuscripts, and publications in different languages. In one corner of the exhibition hall, the office of Paruyr Sevak's Yerevan apartment is accurately reproduced, with original furniture and exhibits.
The minister was interested in the activities of the house museum and its upcoming plans. The possibilities of implementing various projects in the museum environment and the perspectives of revitalizing community life and turning it into a creative center were discussed.
It should be noted that the jubilee events for P. Sevak's 100th anniversary started today. At 1:00 p.m., Gor Sujyan, the "Kadance" ensemble, and the youth group of the Hamazkayin Theater performed in Paruyr Sevak's House Museum. At 19:30 at the Hamazkayin Theater, named after Sos Sargsyan, the performance of P. Sevak's collection of the same name, "Man in the Palm" (director: Narine Grigoryan), will take place.
