The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Civil Defense of the Republic of Cyprus announced the delivery of humanitarian aid from the Republic of Cyprus to Armenia through the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
"Cyprus could not stay away from the call of the European Civil Protection Mechanism to send humanitarian aid to the Armenian people after the recent dramatic events and the displacement of more than 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia as a result of the actions taken by Azerbaijan.
The Republic of Cyprus, responding to Armenia's request and after the completion of the relevant procedures for the reception of Armenians from Artsakh by the latter yesterday, January 16, sent medical products (medicines and medical materials) worth 15,200 euros provided by the State Health Services Organization to Armenia for the treatment of refugees displaced from Artsakh.)
The cargo was delivered yesterday afternoon by air on a flight of the Cyprus Airways airline company, which carried out the transportation free of charge. We want to express our warm thanks for this valuable public support and hope our cooperation will extend to other humanitarian actions and initiatives."
