Team Telecom Armenia has launched the third international cable of strategic importance for Armenia, which will diversify the infrastructure entering the country, increasing the level of Internet security.
The new pipeline, with a capacity of more than 1 Tb/s, will connect Armenia to Frankfurt, the most significant data exchange center in Europe, through Georgia and Russia, becoming an alternative to the existing Georgia-Sofia pipeline, which passes through the Black Sea.
"During the last two years, we have significantly improved the existing highway infrastructure in Armenia, minimizing the number of accidents, but outside the country ,they still remain uncontrolled. By operating new channels, we prevent the problem of Internet access in case of international accidents and have another backup path, increasing Internet reliability and information security," says Hayk Yesayan, General Director of Team Telecom Armenia.
Until now, the company used channels from Georgia and Iran. Let's remind that thanks to Team, Armenia has also become a transit country for Internet exports for 5 countries of the Middle East.
