In an interview with YouTube channel Jay Leno's Garage, Tesla chief designer Franz von Holzhausen confirmed that the company is working on wireless car charging. The stations will work on the same principle as mobile charging of the Qi standard. The magnetic field creates alternating current on the receiving coil and enters the battery from there.
