Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan received the director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Europe and Central Asia Regional Office, Regina De Dominicis. Christine Weigand, representative of UNICEF in Armenia, was also present at the meeting.
Welcoming the attendees, Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan highly appreciated the foundation's role in solving problems related to protecting children's rights and improving their health and living conditions in Armenia. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized including a humanitarian response to address the needs of forcibly displaced children from Nagorno Karabakh within the 2021-2025 action plan of the United Nations Children's Fund.
Regina De Dominicis thanked me for the warm welcome. They highlighted the importance of continuing and expanding the interaction with the government to appropriately assess and adequately address children's needs.
During the conversation, a wide range of issues of mutual interest were also touched upon.
