On December 4, around 2:35 p.m., the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire at the Armenian position located in the area of Bazhtrun (Vayots Dzor region), as a result of which Gerasim Avetiki Arakelyan, a soldier of the Nth military unit of the RA Defense Force, received a fatal gunshot wound.
An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The Ministry of Defense expresses its condolences and support to the family members, relatives and friends of the serviceman.
