On the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports initiative of the Republic of Armenia, Armenia participated for the first time in the Strasbourg Christmas Fair, which is widely known in Europe. 400 types of handicrafts of more than 60 Armenian artisans are presented at the world-renowned fair.
Christmas and New Year symbols created with Armenian motifs will decorate the Armenian pavilion on Saint Thomas Square in Strasbourg for about a month (from November 24 to December 24).
Visitors to the fair are offered the finest examples of vibrant Armenian heritage, including carpet weaving, embroidery, tapestry, and woodwork. Representation on this most crucial pan-European platform will contribute to the international popularization of the Armenian cultural heritage and the acquisition and expansion of intercultural dialogue.
It should also be noted that Armenia's first participation in the Strasbourg Christmas Fair was marked by the grand opening ceremony of the pavilion, which high-ranking officials of France and Armenia attended.
The program is implemented in cooperation with the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Hovh and coordinated by the Sharambeyan Museum of Folk Arts.
