Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan, on a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with the Minister of Cooperation, Labor, and Social Welfare of Iran, Seyed Sowlat Mortazavi.
During the meeting, the possibilities of expanding cooperation between the two countries in labor and social protection were discussed, and several issues of mutual interest were touched upon.
To strengthen cooperation between the two countries and exchange labor, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding. The latter has committed to combining efforts in the direction of ensuring employment, preventing illegal migration, and simplifying the labor exchange process.
An agreement was also reached to regularly exchange information about available vacancies, sectors, and required professional qualifications in both countries.
Minister Mkrtchyan highly appreciated the role of bilateral friendly relations between RA and Iran and expressed confidence that shortly, the cooperation will continue to develop based on the best interests of the countries and peoples.
Seyed Soulat Mortazavi thanked the minister for accepting the invitation to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran. The latter noted that they are ready to present their best experience, potential, and opportunities to the Armenian side to benefit the development of the social protection system of the neighboring country.
