Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan received the delegation of the German Red Cross Regional Organization of Baden-Württemberg, headed by Barbara Bosch.
During the meeting, several issues related to the future directions of cooperation were discussed, in particular, several issues related to the implementation of joint programs in the process of providing support to people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
Minister Mkrtchyan thanked the delegation members for visiting and being with the Armenian people during this challenging period for Armenia. The minister also highly appreciated the role of the long-term cooperation formed with the organization and expressed confidence that future joint work will be equally effective.
Referring to the programs implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to support people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, Narek Mkrtchyan also detailed the work in this direction. According to the latter, from the very first days of the displaced persons entering the Republic of Armenia, one of the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has been to respond quickly and efficiently to the primary needs of compatriots. Through the platforms launched for this purpose, the needs of the displaced persons and the resources of the organizations willing to provide support were inventoried.
The minister also spoke about the services provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to vulnerable groups forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, including persons with disabilities, lonely older adults, and children in difficult life situations, noting that the latter continue to receive necessary care from the Ministry in subordinate institutions.
Barbara Bosch also emphasized cooperation with the Ministry. She noted that they are ready to invest the necessary efforts in supporting people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. The head of the delegation strongly condemned the forced deportation of people from Nagorno-Karabakh and said that it violates human rights. Barbara Bosch also noted that she greatly respects the RA government and the Armenian people for supporting the displaced persons and properly confronting the existing challenges.
