Issues related to readmission were discussed with the EU delegation

On October 25, the 9th session of the joint Armenia-EU readmission committee was held, in which the representatives of the RA Foreign Ministry, the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, the European Commission, the EU delegation in Armenia, and the embassies of the EU member states, as well as "FRONTEX," participated. Armen Ghazaryan, Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service, and Silvena Pesta, Head of the Readmission Department of the Illegal Migration and Return Policy Department of the General Directorate of Home Affairs of the European Commission, co-chaired the session.

The parties discussed the statistics on readmission issues, the status of bilateral implementation protocols of the agreement, and other technical and substantive issues aimed at increasing the efficiency of the agreement's implementation.

Reference was made to the currently implemented state reintegration support program to the work being done to improve the voluntary return and reintegration system in Armenia. The European side, in turn, expressed satisfaction with the practical cooperation with the Armenian side.

The parties agreed to continue the active steps towards further implementing the Armenia-EU readmission agreement.
