The Chairman of the Bundestag's Committee on Foreign Relations, Michael Roth, said at a meeting with journalists in Yerevan that tomorrow he will leave for the southern regions of Armenia with the delegation.
According to him, the motto of the visit is to express solidarity with Armenia as a democratic country and also send a message to the autocratic regime of Azerbaijan that they will not tolerate any military solution in the region.
"The use of military force against the ethnic Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh is definitely a gross violation of international law, and it also violates the beliefs and principles we have regarding international law, and we strongly condemn this practice.
The policy of equality that we conducted with young democratic Armenia and rich and autocratic Azerbaijan has failed," he said.
According to the ambassador, sanctions will be imposed on the Azerbaijani regime if Azerbaijan does not stop its aggressive and provocative policy. He said that this issue is currently under development. "We will continue to support all peace-oriented negotiations with the same intensity," he insisted.
