Andranik Kocharyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security Affairs of the National Assembly, referred to the visit of the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, to France.
"Papikyan and the Minister of Defense of France will discuss many issues. Some educational and military cooperation elements will find their place during this meeting," he said.
According to him, every state should increase the scope of its cooperation. "Also,it should have the great involvement of its friends in political matters. The 44-day war suggested that we should do serious work on those platforms and have not only friends but also such relations that will be aimed at making our security environment more inclusive," he said.
Kocharyan also noted that Armenia acquired defensive weapons from France: "Yes, they are primarily defensive. No one will give offensive weapons to anyone because they dictate a different military concept. And our military concept, first of all, contains defensive fortifications."
