"The depopulation of Nagorno-Karabakh was never in our plans." Nikol Pashinyan presented the reactions of international partners

"The first impulse from all international partners about this situation is that they wonder how it is possible that 100,000 forcibly displaced refugees enter the country in three days and the government can take care of their needs at least in the short and medium term. They don't remember a precedent where 100,000 forcibly displaced people entered any country. When walking on the streets of that country, that phenomenon is not seen as a humanitarian crisis," Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the government meeting, addressing the criticism that their government lacks management skills.

He also said the government needed such a plan from the beginning. "The depopulation of Nagorno-Karabakh was never on the agenda of our plans and political wishes, even according to the logic of crisis management. What was done was done practically within days and hours," he said.

According to the Prime Minister, if those displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh do not have the opportunity to return to their homes, everything will be done so that they remain in Armenia, "We treat the needs of our brothers and sisters in Nagorno-Karabakh with the same care as in the case of RA citizens, and I want to emphasize this fact."
