Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan received the head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos.
The jointly planned actions to support forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh were discussed during the meeting. The results of the already-implemented programs and the EU's involvement in the social protection field were also referred to.
Minister Mkrtchyan congratulated the ambassador on assuming an important position and wished for practical cooperation. Presenting the works carried out by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to meet the primary needs of displaced persons, the minister noted that in the current situation, the RA government plans and implements various programs to overcome the current crisis.
Referring to the sectoral works already implemented with the participation of the EU, Narek Mkrtchyan described the joint efforts in the fields of integrated social services, social housing, human trafficking, and the protection of women and children's rights as positive and practical.
Ambassador Vassilis Maragos emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Ministry and expressed his willingness to be actively involved in the planned programs in the field of social protection.
