Eduard Aghajanyan, a deputy of the KP faction of the National Assembly, stated that the ratification of the Rome Statute has nothing to do with Armenia's bilateral relations with Russia.
"We have conveyed this to our Russian partners. So much has been said. RA is a sovereign state, and we must be guided exclusively by the state interests of the Republic of Armenia," Aghajanyan said.
He noted the journalist's observation of whether the Russian side would likely move from threats to actions after the ratification of the Rome Statute, "These are issues that I will not speak about now, but the Republic of Armenia and the leadership of Armenia will take appropriate steps in case of possible scenarios. We do not have any basis to claim that there will be such actions."
