The public demands termination of RA's membership in the CSTO, withdrawal of the Russian military base

A group of non-governmental organizations issued a statement demanding the termination of Armenia's membership in the CSTO and the withdrawal of the Russian military base from Armenia.

"From the well-known announcement of November 9, 2020, until today, in many cases, both the so-called peacekeeping forces in Artsakh and the Russian Federation, in general, have proven that they do not fulfill their contractual and military-political obligations, and at the expense of Armenia and Artsakh, consistently Azerbaijan's interests are served by.

On September 19, 2023, large-scale military operations began in Artsakh. The program of depopulation agreed with Russia and reaffirmed that the Kremlin serves the interests of Azerbaijan.

On September 26, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation stated that, in essence, placed the responsibility for the grave situation in Nagorno-Karabakh on the authorities of Armenia, citing the involvement of "Arevmutkin" in mediation efforts.

The statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry was a logical continuation of the talk of a change of power in Armenia by Dmitry Medvedev, the vice-chairman of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the media directly dependent on the Kremlin.

Thus, it becomes evident that the Russian Federation not only does not fulfill its alliance obligations to guarantee the security of Armenia, does not provide its peacekeeping functions to ensure the rights and security of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh, but also tries to directly and publicly intervene in the internal political processes of the Republic of Armenia and support anti-state and destabilizing actions.

Our local non-governmental organizations consider that the official circles of the Russian Federation are trying to carry out a coup d'état in the Republic of Armenia due to our country's commitment to democratic development with all its problems and difficulties.

The ruling regime of the Russian Federation, which systematically and continuously violates the values of human rights at the state level, clearly aims with its actions and with the help of its supporters in Armenia and other means to reduce the degree of sovereignty and the level of independence of Armenia, if possible to make it a dictatorial country like its own, increasing the level of Armenia's dependence on it.

We firmly assert that the government in Armenia must be formed exclusively through accessible, transparent, and fair elections.

We categorically reject any other, mainly foreign or violent intervention, the formation of authorities, and another state invasion. We also condemn such attempts by the Russian Federation, Armenian agents calling for a coup, or other lovers of dictatorship.

Based on accepting the revision, as well as the Russian Federation's unabashed hostile attitude towards the Republic of Armenia and our democracy, we demand from the Government of Armenia.

Within the framework of their powers, they resolutely thwarted all attempts at foreign intervention in domestic political processes,
To stop the operation of the Armenian-Russian agreements that ensure the rebroadcasting of Russian TV channels and to compel cable operators to disconnect from their networks all Russian TV channels that spread anti-Armenian, anti-Armenian propaganda openly or openly, broadcast products that discredit the statehood and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia,
Start the official process of terminating RA membership in the CSTO, thereby eliminating this severe obstacle to deepening military-technical cooperation with the West,
Transfer all border guard functions at the Zvartnots airport and at the Armenian-Iranian and Armenian-Turkish borders to the RA border guard troops, as provided for in the 1992 Armenian-Russian relevant agreement.
The official process of terminating all agreements related to the location of the Russian (102nd) military base in Armenia and the complete withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces from our country has begun.
