France will provide 7 million euros for those forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan had a meeting today with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia, Olivier Decotini.

Touching upon the work to support people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, Minister Narek Mkrtchyan presented the steps implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The minister highly appreciated the role of France in standing by Armenia under challenging situations and providing necessary assistance.

Emphasizing the importance of overcoming the humanitarian crisis, Ambassador Dkotini informed the minister that the French government, in cooperation with partner organizations, has decided to provide 7 million euros to overcome the social needs of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to the ambassador, the French side is also preparing to send an airplane loaded with medical supplies and equipment to Armenia to provide first aid to the people affected by the gas station explosion in Nagorno-Karabakh.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue active cooperation in the direction of the settlement of existing problems in the field of social protection.
